Alan Danielson

For Alan Danielson,
Truly one of the most humane people I have ever encountered,
and he brought that humanity into he studio.
He shared his joy and respect for each individual,
every day.

I hope I find your spirit
in the morning sun
I hope the wind transports your enthusiasm
and shares it with everyone.
I hope your rhythm permeates the spirits of us all
I hope we can remember how you taught us all to fall
to use the weight and feel the great abandon of the dance
to trust ourselves and use the beat and go for it-- take a chance,
Your discipline, your commitment, your love for what you did
reminds me what this life can be,
an adventure
lived with dignity
You danced, you played, you showed us all what passion truly is
Although you're gone
I say, once again,
You're one who, truly, lived.

I pray that your enthusiasm spreads throughout the world
Somehow continues what you began while you lived-- as I know.

Sir Ken Robinson "How are you Intelligent"?

"The world of your private passions, your motivations, your aspirations, your hopes and your talents.  And I believe, the future of the world around us, as far as we're concerned, depends on understanding much more about the world within us. And the more standardized our education systems' become, the less amenable they are to allowing us to make those explorations."
