"LET THE LEARNER DIRECT HIS OWN LEARNING"

Paradox

Paradox

1.To be extremely selfish is also extremely unselfish.  To live the most selfish is, paradoxically, to live the most selfless.

So much beauty today. When light dances in the East river. In the still city on Sunday morning.  but the wind, the waves: energy flows through them.  Beauty.  The subway system gracefully covers its 'inconvenience.' The G train taken over by an accountable shuttle, easy to read signs, and hardworking MTA employees.  Alvin Ailey fundraiser with Louis. dancers ; Belin, Alicia Graf Mac, Matthew Rushing.  The beautifully written play, "Honour." The incredible "Our Town" read on the lawn beside a gorgeous sunset on the East River.  Chocolate "juice" that tastes like a milkshake.  The moon, softly full above the "Keyfoods."  Life. It's ironic that today I read the play that asks if anyone stops to really look at and appreciate life.  It is torturous for Emily to go back and look at her life on earth, because to go back is to realize how little people actually cherish life.  I am grateful for Thorton Wilder, and the greats who pointed these out in their artwork, to awaken and inspire.

An Inspiring Musician

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xo0cymUakaE

I saw Brendan James in concert last night and I was, again, blown away.  His music is filled with so much clarity, empathy, soul, energy. I love how he speaks of, and therefore to, ordinary people and of ordinary moments.  Except, in his music he exhibits and celebrates that, as Dan Millman says in "Way of a Peaceful Warrior," "there are no ordinary moments."
